What is a catalytic temperature monitor?

Hi Bob,
To answer your question...it's a probe that slides into an opening in the stove, that measures the exhaust temperature of the combustor. It allows you to know when the combustor is up to temperature or has "light-off". It also lets you monitor the combustor's operating temperature while burning your stove.
It slides in and seats about 1/4" off the center above the combustor on the exhaust side. It has a gauge (on the out side of the stove) to let you know the exhaust temperature.
If the stove did not come with one, they can be purchased from the stove manufacturer or at your local fireside retail store.
I hope I have answered your question.
