What is the life expectancy of the combustor in my stove?

The life expectancy of the unit is around 6 years. (10,000 to 12,000 burning hours) However, units have been reported to have lasted as long as 10 years.
Understanding the combustor's needs, how it works and proper care are the key factors for its maximum life and efficiency.  What does this mean?....
Combustor needs....give it the proper temperature and time it needs for light-off before closing the by-pass.
How it works..........burning only clean season dried wood to do its job.
Proper care.............follow proper cleaning and maintenance instructions, but only when necessary.

It is recommended the unit be changed out every 6 years for maximum efficiency of your stove.
